Great student experience

Keele University's campus is the largest in the UK, set in beautiful English countryside. The safe and welcoming campus has everything you need to enjoy the full UK university student experience. Not only are there teaching buildings suitable for every class style, and a range of student accommodation, but also shops, cafés and restaurants. With all of these facilities on campus, you will find it easy to live abroad.

World-class facilities

Keele's ongoing investments include the new multi-million pound state-of-the-art Smart Innovation Hub, which will house Keele Business School and provide students the opportunity to engage in the latest research.

Woodlands and lakes

Keele University was named one of the most beautiful campuses in the UK (Culture Trip 2016). Situated in 600 acres of parkland, Keele’s peaceful campus has lakes, a stream and woodland walks for you to explore. The campus also features one of the largest collections of flowering cherry trees in the UK.

Living in the UK, you will be able to explore nature surrounding Keele and further afield in your free time.

Going Green

The University is focused on introducing greener thinking and promoting the importance of environmental sustainability. Keele is the first university to be awarded the Carbon Trust Standard for its efforts and is ranked as the 7th most sustainable university in the UK, and 25th in the world by the UI Green Metric Ranking 2019.

Sports and activities

The University Sports Centre has excellent facilities, including two sports halls, a dance studio, six squash courts, nine football pitches, two rugby pitches, a lacrosse pitch and a fitness centre. Whether you want to try a new sport, or compete against other university teams, there is something for everyone at Keele. You can also choose from over 25 fitness classes per week, in activities such as pilates, yoga, zumba and karate.


There are two libraries (open 24/7 during semester time) have free Wi-Fi and offer a choice of silent or group study spaces. You will also have access to the Keele Learning Environment where you can find additional course content to support your studies.

Great shops

As well as three campus shops that carry almost everything you could need as a student at Keele, there is a newsagent, the Students’ Union shop, book store and a bank. There are also daily traders on campus selling DVDs, CDs, books and posters. In addition to shops, there is a wide choice of excellent cafes and restaurants on campus, where you can meet your friends for something to eat and drink. Some of the options include:

  • The Refectory offers a range of dishes from around the world, as well as lighter meals.
  • Chancellor’s Bistro is a relaxing coffee lounge serving sandwiches, pastries and cakes.
  • Lindsay Café Bar serves hot dishes such as chilli, fish and chips or pizza.
  • Blend offers freshly blended coffee and a range of cakes, biscuits and lunch-time snacks.
  • The Scruffy Squirrel serves pub-style food, such as burger and chips.
  • Grab & Go, On the Square, and Costa Coffee.

Places of worship

The University has a diverse, multi-faith community. The Chapel on campus is a partnership Christian church with space provided to support the entire university community. The Space in the East Chapel is available for interdenominational meditation. There is also an Islamic Centre for Muslim worship.
